What is a Live-In?

A Live-In is a weekend retreat with the theme of “Getting to Know Jesus”. While the Live-In is a retreat type experience, it differs from the usual retreat style, which emphasizes silence and prayer. 

The whole purpose of the Live-In Weekend is to lead those who come to a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Most people who make a Live-In experience the presence of Jesus, finding a new peace and a deeper faith. And many people say that after their Live-In they receive a whole new outlook on their Christian faith and on their life, finding greater meaning to life and a new desire to pray and read the Scriptures.

What can you expect?

A weekend with a welcoming loving community

How to make your Live-In

Find a sponsor

Everyone who makes a Live-In weekend needs to have a sponsor. This can be anyone who has already made a Live-In weekend themselves, including family, friends or new acquaintances. Contact us if you need a sponsor.

How much does a Live In cost?

Live-Ins are provided free-of-charge to all attendees. All are welcome!

Do I have to be Catholic to attend?

No, you don’t need to be a Catholic, or even a Christian to attend the Live In. There will be Catholic elements to the retreat, but all are welcome. In fact, the Live In has a rich history of finding unity with people from Protestant denominations.

Where are the Live Ins held?

Retreats are held at various community centres by our Live In communites in Lethbridge, Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, the Okanagon, Lakeland and St.Lucia. Contact your local Live In for more information on their next retreat.

Why does the Live In exist?

The Live-In exists for the purpose of evangelization: to bring people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; and to develop in those who already have this relationship, a deeper, vibrant faith in Jesus Christ.
